Status

v2.0 (July 2009) This release is a targeted finished release. Six of the chromosomes have been finished telomere to telomere while the remaining fourteen chromosomes remain in their improved draft form. Total size of the 20 chromosome assembly is 13.3 Mbp.

The current draft release, version 2.0, includes a total of 7,492 gene models predicted and functionally annotated using the JGI annotation pipeline.

v.1.0 (August 2008): Ostreococcus RCC809 genome assembly v1.0. The assembly release of whole genome shotgun reads was constructed with the JGI assembler, Jazz, using paired end sequencing reads at a coverage of 8.77X. After trimming for vector and quality, 163,888 reads assembled into 80 scaffolds totaling 13.6 Mbp. The v1.0 release included a total of 7,773 genes.
