GEBA-Genomic Encyclopedia for Bacteria and Archaea Data Usage Policy (July 1, 2008)

As a public service, the raw sequence data, assemblies, and annotation from the GEBA project are being made available by the Department of Energy's Joint Genome Institute (JGI) before scientific publication.

These pre-publication data are preliminary and may contain errors. Our policy is that early release should aid the progress of science.

The DOE Joint Genome Institute plans to publish papers on the GEBA project and an analysis of the genomes produced from this project. In addition, we plan to publish papers describing the sequencing, annotation and analysis of individual genomes produced. Though we are placing no restrictions on the use of these data, if these data are used for publication, the following acknowledgment should be included: These sequence data were produced by the US Department of Energy Joint Genome Institute http://www.jgi.doe.gov/. We request that you notify us upon publication so that this information can be included in the final annotation.
