| The Genome Browser's Navigation Controls provide tools for navigating within and (if there is more than one scaffold) between the scaffolds representing a genome and for viewing details about each track.
Move - >>> Jumps 95% of the displayed scaffold length toward the end of the scaffold.
- >> Jumps 66% of the displayed scaffold length toward the end of the scaffold.

Zoom - +10x Zooms in to show 1/10 of the currently displayed scaffold length.
- +3x Zooms in to show 1/3 of the currently displayed scaffold length.
- +1.5x Zooms in to show 2/3 of the currently displayed scaffold length.
- -10x Zooms out to show 10 times the currently displayed scaffold length.
- -3x Zooms out to show 3 times the currently displayed scaffold length.
- -1.5x Zooms out to show 1.5 times the currently displayed scaffold length.
AA/NAThe AA and NA buttons allow you to zoom in directly to view on the scaffold track either the 3-frame amino acid translation (AA) or nucleotide with 3-frame amino acid translation (NA) for your current position along the genome. Other Controls -
Position The number of the scaffold you are viewing and your current position on that scaffold. To view a different range of sequence, change the scaffold number or position numbers in the Position text box and then click Refresh. This can also be used to locate a specific gene model by zooming in and centering the genome on the appropriate location. To do this, enter the Protein ID number in the Position text box and click the Refresh button. -
Size The number of base pairs of the scaffold sequence you are currently viewing. This number is automatically updated when you alter the position settings or zoom. (You cannot change it by typing into the Size box.) - Ref. Strand By deafault, the browser displays all data in the positive (+) frame. To switch to the negative (-) frame view, click the Ref. Strand button. This button will show your selection (+) Ref. Strand or (-) Ref. Strand.
Next Scaffold Moves to the next smallest scaffold. To move back to a larger scaffold, type the scaffold number into the Position text box and click Refresh. -
Feature Information about tracks in the Genome Viewer. To view the description for a track, place your cursor over that track. -
Open/Close Toolbar Click here to open (or hide) the Tool Bar menu. From the Genome Browser's Tool Bar you can change the appearance of tracks, login to the Track Editor, upload custom tracks, or make other custom modifications to the Browser's default settings. -
Link to this View Click here for a link to your current browser view, including the track ordering and all track settings. You can use this link to bookmark the current view and send it to others for viewing as well. This is not tied to your current session; it allows you to freeze the current view for display at a later time and will last indefinitely. |
