Gene models with alignments to proteins that match your search term are listed with the following information:

  • Protein Id  The ID number of the gene model, a link to the Protein page for the gene model. Click this link to view the Protein page.
  • Description  A description of the protein, if available.
  • Hit Count  The number of external proteins found to align with the translated gene under your search settings.
  • Max Score  The highest score among all external proteins that align with the translated gene under your search settings.
  • Min E-Value  The lowest E-value among all external proteins that align with the translated gene under your search settings.
  • TOP Hit Description  The description of the external protein with the best score or E-value.

To see result details for specific gene models, select the check box next to each one that interests you and click Show Details. The following data will appear for each hit:

  • Protein Id  The ID number of the gene model, a link to the Protein page for the gene model.
  • Description  A description of the protein coded by the gene, if one is available.
  • Score  The Smith-Waterman score for the alignment.
  • E-value  The expectation value for the alignment.
  • Target Id  The ID number in the external database for the highest scoring protein that aligns with the gene model, a link to the record in the external database.
  • Target Description  A description of the protein from the external database.
  • Tax Name  The taxonomy name of the organism in which the protein is found.
